Le béton cellulaire est un matériau présent en France depuis de nombreuses années, mais qui est loin d'avoir la renommée qu'il connaît dans les pays du nord de l'Europe et dans les pays chauds. Des habitudes bien ancrées fondées sur la technique de mise en œuvre au mortier épais peuvent expliquer son faible développement. Infra-lightweight concrete combines the structural and thermal insulation functions of the building envelope in one monolithic material, thus providing new design options.
